Hosting.com Selects Tinet to Provide Disaster Recovery for Cloud Hosting Customers

Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

Hosting.com Selects Tinet to Provide Disaster Recovery for Cloud Hosting Customers.  This choice will mainly be for disaster recovery solutions for its hosted hybrid cloud computing deployments. Tinet’s solution allowed Hosting.com to create one of the only public cloud infrastructures that connects clouds in multiple datacenters and geographies. This provides Hosting.com customers with the highest levels of security and redundancy available in the cloud computing marketplace.

“Tinet is one of the few providers that could offer us dedicated transport between all three of our cloud ‘SuperSites,'” states Darrel Hyde, Director of Network Security & Engineering for Hosting.com. “Our custom hybrid hosting solutions demand that our network provide low latency and guaranteed Service Level Agreements (SLAs); Tinet’s network delivers on both. In addition, Tinet’s proactive network monitoring allows us to confidently design different types of cloud solutions including our Cloud VPS, Cloud Enterprise, Cloud Dedicated, and Cloud Private to ensure we meet the various cloud hosting requirements of our clients.”

“Our network is a leading backbone that leverages MPLS and Traffic Engineering to guarantee end-to-end Ethernet and VPLS connectivity across a global footprint,” continues Paolo Gambini, CMO of Tinet. “Our specialist focus enables us to optimize our backbone design and engineering to deliver high capacity IP and Ethernet services and therefore ensure strong SLAs and high degree of resiliency.”

Hosting.com Launches Cloud Private

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

Hosting.com announced earlier today that Cloud Private is now available to consumers. CloudPrivate  is a single-tenant, VMware-enabled compute infrastructure that includes licensing, monitoring and management of cloud servers in one or more Hosting.com Cloud Super Sites.

Hosting.com States:

Cloud Private addresses a previous gap in Hosting.com’s Cloud Portfolio – a private cloud solution that is fully managed through Hosting.com’s Customer Portal and Entourage Support team, and is capable of connecting to Hosting.com’s Hybrid Hosting solutions. Hybrid Hosting allows standalone cloud, dedicated and colocation components to run independently or as part of a network.

Hybrid Hosting provides businesses of all sizes with technology and cost benefits formerly reserved for large enterprises with their own datacenters. Hosting.com customers can connect their Cloud Private solution to their internal infrastructure or to Hosting.com’s public clouds to flex their infrastructure during a new project, seasonal spike, or for multi-site disaster recovery.

Craig McLellan, Hosting.com Chief Technology Officer, added, “Our engineering teams work vigorously to deliver multiple cloud hosting solutions to the marketplace for one reason – customer demand. Cloud Private is the fourth addition to our Cloud Portfolio and it is the most significant because it meets existing customer demands such as – datacenter redundancy in multiple Cloud Super Sites, on-demand resource availability in a private, managed cloud, and federation of internal clouds.”

Cloud Private virtual machines are offered with common Windows and Linux operating system options and managed by Hosting.com, reducing a customer’s management and costs associated with payments and maintenance. Additionally, Cloud Private customers receive free 24×7×365 expert Entourage Support.

Hosting.com customers access the secure web-based Customer Portal to manage and provision their Cloud Hosting solutions. The Customer Portal provides the ability to administer and create virtual machines, adjust resources, add services, and view and create alarms. Most modifications made via the Customer Portal are available within minutes. View the Hosting.com Review on Best Cloud Server.

Hosting.com new Virtual Machine in the Cloud Marketplace

Friday, May 14th, 2010

Hosting.com now has the ability for customers to park virtual machines within its Cloud Enterprise solution. Cloud parking is the latest buzz from Hosting.com that makes cloud hosting cost-effective and simple for VMware customers to upload, park and manage their virtual machines in a service provider cloud.

Fred Strelzoff, Hosting.com Cloud Product Manager, added, “There is a huge demand for customers seeking to store all the system state information of a virtual machine in a “parked” state for use at a later time. The largest use case we see for this service today is for business continuance services. Parking allows customers to park a warm copy of a virtual machine that can be activated within a minute or two in the event of a disaster.”
