Hostway to Present to the Professional Association for SQL Servers

Hostway just announced it will be holding a presentation for the Chicago chapter of the “Professional Association for SQL Server,” on Aug. 12th, 2010

Hostway is a huge cloud hosting provider, providing more than 1.4 million websites and 600,000 customers hosting worldwide.  Having them speak at an event like the Professional Association for SQL Servers would be a great boost to the industry.  Their presentation, entitled “Cloud Computing: DBA Friend or Foe?” will be delivered by Stratavia, the organization that Hostway has partnered with to deliver NetDBAs. The key points will center on database administration in the cloud. It

Hostway snags $110 Million for Cloud Hosting

Hostway snag $110 Million for Cloud Hosting and continued growth efforts.  In 2008 Hostway launched a Cloud Server effort, which mainly leverages Microsoft’s Windows Server and SQL Server database — though Centos and Red Hat Enterprise Linux also are supported.  They are really good at what they do and this $110 million will help them to be another major player in the cloud hosting industry.  Their cloud servers will at least have a huge boost with the extra money they have received.
