Savvis completed its $121 million deal to buy Fusepoint today! Savvis originally wanted this deal to gain a strong hold in the Canadian market, a move the company said it’s largest clients had pushed for. Fusepoint, which has more than 300 clients, offers managed infrastructure and hosting services. Fusepoint has three data centers located in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal.

“The deal is consistent with our strategy to further strengthen our hosting business, to expand geographically and to focus on major financial centers like Toronto,” Savvis chief executive Jim Ousley said in a statement. “Our combined operations are well-positioned within the highly promising Canadian hosting market.”

We’ll see what Savvis can offer in Canada as far as cloud hosting is concerned.  Canadian cloud hosting has not been a hot topic but sounds like it will be in the near future.
