Greenpeace says: Make server racks greener

Greenpeace is calling on major internet networking companies to do more to cut their carbon emissions from data centres and to use renewable energy.  He states that “data centers will consume 1,963 billion kilowatt hours of electricity, greater than the current electricity consumption of France, Germany, Canada and Brazil combined.” Holy Moly, all these cloud hosting data centers really need to be better at offering green cloud hosting centers.   Hopefully with all the green hosting efforts and the cloud computing and using less energy and consuming less.

Later their organization added: “We are calling on IT industry giants to put their might behind government policies that give priority grid access for renewable sources like wind and solar energy.” adding “IT companies should also support economy-wide climate and energy policies around the world that peak climate emissions by 2015.”
