Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

Sanbolic announced that it is offering service provider licensing (SPLA) for its software storage solution for cloud hosting environments. Sanbolic’s Melio 2010 adds centralized storage management, improved availability, and dynamic scalability to hosted Windows Cloud computing environments, and integrates easily with Windows Server Hyper-V virtualization and System Center Management components.

Customers can now dynamically assign and manage shared storage resources in a cloud storage environment, including metering storage performance based on the service level purchased by the end customer. Sanbolic software can be used with any industry standard SAN storage.

“Many companies and web developers in Europe are concerned with storing critical data abroad; our new service gives them a great alternative,” continued Axel Dunkel. “We expect to gain a lot of new customers, not just for the cloud storage but also for our cloud hosting solutions.” Dunkel plans to attract solution providers to deploy secure and compliant cloud solutions using Dunkel Cloud Storage as a Germany-based storage cloud for their own services.
