Fedral Government moving to the Cloud?

USA.gov and Data.gov that uses the Terremark‘s cloud hosting technology.  Federal CIO Vivek Kundra noted that this move reduced the government’s power bill by 68% for the sites, a savings of about $1.7 million.  The Federal Government Cloud Hosting program is starting to save them huge amounts or money and green cloud hosting is helping save huge amounts of energy.

Terremark is a Gold Sponsor at the Fifth International Cloud Expo at the Javits Center in New York, and will also be making three presentations during the course of the three-day event

“There’s not one enterprise today that doesn’t have a cloud strategy,” said Terremark Chairman and CEO Manuel D. “Manny” Medina. The average consumer uses cloud computing when he or she backs up photos on a website. Instead of it being saved on a local hard drive, it’s online “in the cloud” of cyberspace.  It’s in a cloud hosting data center somewhere in the US.  The corporate world has even more uses for cloud computing.

MICHAEL GARRY and Cloud Computing

Food retailing may soon be entering  “the cloud” or cloud computing for cost savings.  Retailers are beginning to discover the huge cost savings for their online websites when they move over to the cloud.  They can scale instantly for demand at the touch of a button.  This creates huge cost savings for all the many cloud hosting retailers.

Michael Garry stated: “The cloud in this case is the Internet, which is increasingly becoming a source of not only software applications but also computing platforms and processing.
