Google Image Search Event

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

Google today is showing everyone some of the latest features that will be rolling out on its search engine. The event seems to have a main focus on Google Image Search. One announcement will almost certainly be a new look for Google Images, but we expect to hear much more. I’m hopeing that they will talk about how the new Google images are hosted in a Google Cloud Hosting environment. Google cloud servers seem to be very powerful and help us all out a ton!

The whole HostingCon 2010 push for Microsoft has been to push their cloud hosting channel.  The Microsoft cloud channel is beginning to be huge.  Roughly 8,000 partners have sold BPOS (Business Productivity Online Suite) to two or more customers. Microsoft Channel Chief Jon Roskill offered additional cloud server perspectives during this WPC10 press conference:

HostingCon 2010: Free ICANN Accreditation

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

Accreditation.com (the ICANN Accreditation consulting division of LogicBoxes) announced its presence at HostingCon (Austin, Texas), starting 19th July, 2010 at booth #216.

According to Bhavin Turakhia, CEO of LogicBoxes, medium to large sized webhosts are beginning to realize the importance of an ICANN Accreditation. Apart from the security of being their own Registrar, they stand to make significant cost savings, and increase revenue streams. “We’ve seen a steady growth in the number of large web hosting companies stepping up to become Registrars, and for obvious reasons. The most common being independence from their existing Registrar, better pricing and the compelling branding advantages. Building a user base is pretty important for companies today and so few companies hesitate before going that extra mile to ensure they have customer trust and loyalty.”
