Cloud Hosting +

Monday, July 11th, 2011

With all the talk about Google +, I wanted to write a post about Cloud Hosting Plus.  What does it take to make a real network that helps people connect with other cloud hosting people?  Cloud Hosting Plus would be a networking site that helps connect to cloud hosting providers in their local area and find out all the dirt about them.

You could have the ability to share different things with different people. Cloud Hosting Circles shares the right stuff with the right people. Cloud Hosting Circles makes it easy to put your friends from Saturday night in one circle, your parents in another, and your boss in a circle by himself – just like real life.  Yes, I stole that from Google Circles page, I think it would be pretty funny if someone went and copied their site and applied it to cloud hosting.

Find out more info about Google Plus here.

Amazon Cloud Drive Starting at $20/year

Friday, July 8th, 2011

Today, Amazon is announced a few nifty enhancements to its cloud-based music locker, including storage plans that offer unlimited space for music, free storage for MP3 purchases, and Cloud Player has finally come to the iPad. If you remember that Amazon before Apple, or Google or any other large cloud server player was the first to get into the cloud music space.

The Cloud Drive and Cloud Player will cost, at the very least, $20 a year, which should be a very reasonable price for unlimited cloud music storage space. This offer is available starting at the lowest price grade, $20/year, which includes 20 GB of file storage and unlimited space for MP3s and AAC music files only.  No other files will be allowed on the server for the $20/year cost.

For the iPad, Amazon says that the Cloud Player for the Web has been “optimized to offer customers streaming playback of their Cloud Drive music using Safari”. Those interested in checking it out, can go here to learn more.

Steve Ballmer CEO of Microsoft to Keynote at CES In 2012

Wednesday, July 6th, 2011

Microsoft main guy and CEO Steve Ballmer will come back to CES in January 2012.  Ballmer will be kicking off the consumer technology tradeshow keynote.  This will mark the fourth time he’ll be taking the stage to do so.  Microsoft is a huge cloud server company that has revolutionized the web as we know it with Windows, Office, and Cloud Azure cloud hosting servers.

The 2012 International CES is scheduled January 10-13, 2012, in Las Vegas, Nevada. CEA says the full line-up of 2012 International CES keynote addresses will be announced in coming months.  Ballmer will be speaking at 6:30 PM on Monday January 9, 2011.  Hope to be able to see you all there.  We will be attending if any of you are wanting to meet up and discuss cloud hosting or just grab a drink!
